Where's there's smoke

There is controlled burning. This evening I had the opportunity to watch some volunteer firemen conduct controlled burning. Amazing! They have a small spray can, that when pointed at the dirt, makes the dirt light up like your gas burners. They would make one line, let that burn and then light another. It took sometime. By time they were on line #8 or #9, the first line was black , lines 3 and 4 were smoking and lines 6 and 7 were having flareups. By time they were done the ground was blackened all over. Most amazing thing of all is give it a few weeks, a sprinkle or two and some sun rays it will begin to turn green again.

So lets see we have robins, daffodils, crocus', forsythia, dandelions, witch hazel, and now controlled burning... SPRING MUST BE HERE!
